CHAPTER 2: School

When I got to school everyone was staring at me, it was weird. By now everyone knows that I am gay, which makes them wonder not only about others but about themselves. I made my way to class, probably the first time I was every on time, sat down and tried to act as if nothing was different, but ofcourse it was different. The only good thing is all of my friends are still my friends Jessica, Wendy, Mark, one of my biggest fears was losing my friends. My parents are taking it a lot better then I thought as well. Everyone rushed into class as the bell rang and they took their seats.

Mark sat down next to me “Thinking of taking a speech class next year?”

I couldn’t help but laugh ”I don’t think that is wise, I don’t think anyone could deal with anymore of my speeches.”

Half way throught the lesson a girl came into our class, I had never seen her before, she was very pretty.

“Can I help you?” Our teacher said

“I’m Pi, I just transferred to this school” she said “My schedule says I am in this class.”

“Well please take a seat, why not over there.” he said pointing to the empty seat to my left.

“Okay” she said as she walked toward me.

She sat down and then turned to me “My name is Pi please to meet you.”

“Steven, and this is Mark.” I said

“Hi” Mark said with a smile

We talked for awhile she was very interesting. She traveled a lot with her family all over Europe, Asia and even to the U.S. Her mother decided she wanted to settle down and moved here, where she could have some peace and quit. Her mother took over the old bookstore her family had left her. Pi helps out after school. We didn’t get much further in our conversation because the bell rang.

“Well, See Ya” Pi said and headed for the door.

Wendy and Jessica came running over to see how I was.

“It seems like everything is going well no problems” Wendy said

“Well that is because I have yet to run into anyone” I said

“Don’t worry we will protect you” Mark said

“Oh that makes me feel so safe” I said with a sarcastic tone

“Hey so what is up with the new girl?” Wendy said eyeing Mark noticing how he smiled at her earlier

“She seems cool” Mark said

“Don’t get any ideas now” Wendy laughed

“I think she was more interested in Steve” Mark said looking at me “I guess she has not heard the news”

“You have lost your mind” I said

I made my way to my classes like I would as if it was any other day. I had no problems in fact I never ran into Kevin, Dave or John at all. Ofcourse I knew I would sooner or later run into them I just wish it was later. Me and the gang got together for lunch like we always do. We where just hanging out when I see Kevin and Dave heading our way. What’s going to happen now?
